According to a recent survey, Manchester United supporters are the worst at leaving games early.

A Betfair and YouGOV survey of 1,300 football fans revealed that United supporters tend to leave games before they are done.

To defend those fans, United ranks second for the lengthiest stoppage time in its matches.

Erik ten Hag’s team has, on average, survived 10 minutes, 37 seconds of extra time in the second half, over four minutes longer than Man City.

According to research, about a quarter of football fans nationwide leave a game early, and a third acknowledge that they missed a goal in that period of time.

23% of those surveyed, or nearly one in four supporters, acknowledged leaving at least one game early in the previous campaign.

Arsenal is rated second, followed by Man City, in terms of spectators leaving the stadium before the final whistle.

The final two fan bases in the top five are those of Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to the survey, the top motivation for leaving early was to avoid traffic.

One in ten Arsenal supporters polled said early departing spectators should be made fun of for not sticking around for the finish.

However, 2% oddly recommended that fans who leave the game early should be honored.

45 percent of attendees indicated they don’t care if fans in their vicinity leave early, while 19 percent said they believed it was a waste of money.

Everton and Liverpool, both from the Merseyside, are tied for sixth position in these rankings, whereas Celtic are said to have a worse early-exit rate than Old Firm rivals Rangers.

This weekend, Manchester United will visit Arsenal, and fans will be watching closely to see which group, if either, throws a dart as soon as the outcome is clear.
