The Blues face the prospect of entering upcoming competitions without a sponsor adorning the front of their shirts, reminiscent of the initial two months of the current season, due to emerging challenges for owner Todd Boehly. Chelsea is yet to secure a sponsor for the forthcoming season, having only secured a short-term agreement with Infinite Athlete in September 2023.

As reported by The Times, the club from London has failed to meet the deadline set by kit manufacturer Nike to incorporate a new brand onto their upcoming shirts. Consequently, there’s a possibility that Chelsea may find themselves repeating last year’s scenario, launching their 2024-25 campaign sans any sponsor. Boehly expressed frustration with the Premier League’s scrutiny of the potential partnership with Infinite Athlete, and he might encounter a similar predicament by summer’s end.

Chelsea’s prior association with phone company Three amounted to £40 million ($50m) annually from 2020 to 2023, serving as a significant revenue stream for the club, which has indulged in significant spending since Boehly succeeded Roman Abramovich in 2022.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino faces substantial tasks during the summer transfer window and may need to make tough decisions to enhance Chelsea’s squad. The former Tottenham Hotspur boss might have to part ways with some high-profile figures at Stamford Bridge, particularly if he aims to bring in fresh talent.
