Last summer, Milan made efforts to secure the signing of Turkish teenage sensation Arda Guler from Fenerbahce, but he eventually opted for Real Madrid. However, recent reports suggest that Milan might be gearing up for a fresh attempt to acquire the 19-year-old in the upcoming transfer window.

Arda Guler had a release clause of around €17.5 million in his previous contract with Fenerbahce. Madrid eventually surpassed this figure, paying €20 million upfront along with potential bonuses of up to €10 million and a 20% sell-on clause for Fenerbahce, leaving Milan empty-handed in their pursuit.

Nevertheless, news from Turkey less than two weeks ago suggested that Milan remains keen on securing Arda Guler’s services for the 2024-25 season. Italian outlet Calciomercato.com also highlighted Milan’s interest in the player on Saturday.

Since joining Madrid, Arda Guler has faced several injury setbacks, including a meniscus injury during the pre-season tour of the United States, sidelining him for two months. Additionally, he suffered from a series of muscular injuries during the autumn and winter periods.

Arda Guler made his debut for Madrid on January 6 in the Copa Del Rey third round against Arandina but has only managed 92 minutes of competitive action across five appearances in all competitions this season.

With the impending arrivals of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick at Real Madrid next season, Arda Guler’s prospects for increased game time seem slim. Consequently, Madrid is considering loaning him out next season, as per reports from Calciomercato.

The recent report suggests that Milan could serve as an ideal destination for all parties involved. The clubs already have a good relationship following Brahim Diaz’s successful three-year loan spell at San Siro from 2020 to 2023.

Should Milan maintain their interest, they could propose a two-year loan deal to Madrid, or potentially explore a rolling one-year loan arrangement, as per Saturday’s reports.
