It’s anticipated that the 22-year-old forward will become part of a permanent transfer deal this summer. Given the unlikelihood of a fresh start at Old Trafford, the one-time England international seems ready to embrace a new challenge abroad.

One potential destination could be Getafe, if they can arrange another loan agreement. However, Juventus and Barcelona are reportedly considering making offers for the player, who has been impressing in La Liga this season. In his most recent outing against Almeria, Greenwood contributed three goals – two of his own and one assist.

Greenwood has surpassed his previous best records for goals and assists in a single league campaign, now totalling 14 this season, exceeding the 11 he achieved in the Premier League with United in 2019-20.

Getafe has praised Greenwood as their “starboy” and commended his “remarkable performance” against Almeria. They understandably wish to retain him for the 2024-25 season, but ultimately, the player will have a say in his next move as United contemplate whether to sell now or defer a decision for another year.
