Former Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman, now playing for Greek side PAOK, was rushed to the hospital after swallowing his tongue in a collision during a match. Rahman, who joined Chelsea for £22 million in 2015, played just one season for the Blues before being loaned out to various clubs. The 29-year-old Ghanaian was knocked unconscious after colliding with Panathinaikos defender Georgios Vagiannidis.

PAOK confirmed that Rahman’s tongue was twisted, putting him in real danger. However, he regained consciousness with the help of doctors and was immediately taken to the hospital. Panathinaikos went on to win the Greek Cup semi-final on penalties. Rahman later reassured fans on social media, stating that he was recovering well with no major damage.

He thanked everyone for their concern and also expressed gratitude to Vagiannidis for checking on him at the hospital. Rahman, who has 51 caps for Ghana, has had loan spells at Reading, Schalke, Reims, Mallorca, and PAOK after leaving Chelsea.
