Huddersfield Town’s young star, Kian Harratt, has been handed a four-month suspension and a £3,200 fine after admitting to placing 484 bets on football matches over three years. The ban, imposed by the Football Association (FA), includes breaches such as betting on his team, Huddersfield Town.
Kian Harratt confessed to betting on matches he was involved in and acknowledged the seriousness of betting on his team to lose, despite not being part of the matchday squad during those fixtures. He attributed his gambling behavior to a desire to replicate the adrenaline rush of playing regular first-team football. Harratt admitted to being aware of the rules prohibiting footballers from betting on football matches.
Despite receiving training and education sessions on the matter during his time in the academy. Huddersfield Town released a statement expressing their support for Harratt, who is currently recovering from hamstring surgery, throughout the duration of his suspension.
