Carlo Ancelotti, the legendary Italian coach, will lead Brazil's national team for the 2024 Copa America, replacing Fernando Diniz of Fluminense.

According to a source from the Brazilian Football Association, Carlo Ancelotti, the legendary  Italian coach, will take over as head coach of Brazil’s national team for the 2024 Copa America.

Fernando Diniz of Fluminense would lead the team temporarily, the federation has previously said. Ancelotti will take over Brazil in time for the Copa America, which will be played in the United States starting in June 2024. Ancelotti still has one season left on his Real Madrid deal.

The former AC Milan and Chelsea coach will lead Brazil as the first foreigner in nearly 60 years. Argentina’s Filpo Nunez served as Brazil’s final foreign head coach in 1965, taking command of one game.

The 64-year-old Ancelotti has won the Champions League twice with both AC Milan and Real Madrid, among his many other accomplishments. Together with Real and Milan, he also won domestic league championships with Chelsea in England, Bayern Munich in Germany, and Paris Saint-Germain in France.

Tite led Brazil as their coach at the 2014 World Cup, however he resigned from the position after Croatia eliminated Brazil in the quarterfinals in Qatar. Ramon Menezes has served as the team’s interim manager.
