The young Argentine talent recently transitioned from Argentinos Juniors to Major League Soccer, and after joining the club earlier this month, he had to wait for three games before his debut. During his first match for the club, as the Herons were trailing 1-0 in the 26th minute, the 21-year-old extended his elbow while attempting to shield the ball from Shaffelburg. However, his elbow struck the Nashville forward’s jaw, resulting in only a yellow card being shown for the offense. The game concluded in a 2-2 draw, with both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez scoring in the second half.

Gary Smith, the coach of Nashville SC, commented on the match, highlighting a couple of crucial refereeing decisions and off-the-ball incidents, including one where Jacob was obstructed. Smith pointed out a particular incident involving an elbow as the most blatant.

The defensive midfielder is expected to return to action when Inter Miami faces Montreal in Major League Soccer action on March 10. Furthermore, he will encounter Shaffelburg and Nashville again during the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League round of 16 on March 13.
