According to reports originating from Italy, Maurizio Sarri and Lazio are anticipated to go their separate ways once the current season concludes. Despite Sarri’s contract extending until June 2025 at the Stadio Olimpico, both Gazzetta and Il Corriere dello Sport disclosed on Thursday that the former Chelsea, Napoli, and Juventus manager is likely to bid farewell to the club by the end of the ongoing campaign.

The reports suggest that Sarri and Lazio’s owner, Lotito, have encountered discord and hold divergent opinions regarding the club’s transfer strategies for the upcoming season. Following a 2-1 defeat against Fiorentina at the close of February, the Italian tactician openly criticized the club’s transfer dealings. He also refrained from ruling out the possibility of departing in the summer following Lazio’s elimination from the Champions League against Bayern Munich earlier in the week.

During a post-match press conference, Sarri was quoted by Gazzetta stating, “I have one year left in my contract, but the cycle may end. The team is no longer young, so something must be done.” Gazzetta’s printed edition on Thursday, page 22, reported that Lazio is contemplating three potential replacements for Sarri next season: Igor Tudor, Vincenzo Italiano (Fiorentina), and Raffaele Palladino (Monza).
