However, Barcelona insists that he will remain with them at least until the season’s end.

The 32-year-old has only been in the starting lineup for four matches since October, indicating a lack of trust from Xavi Hernandez, especially in crucial games. There have been rumors linking him to a return to Girona, his previous club, while Getafe’s President Angel Torres openly expressed interest in acquiring Romeu. Nevertheless, recent events such as Girona’s inquiry about Nico Gonzalez from Porto and Getafe’s loan of Ilaix Moriba suggest they’ve shifted their focus elsewhere.

Reports from Reppublica in Italy, as conveyed by Sport, suggest that Jose Mourinho’s Roma might consider a loan deal for Romeu if Renato Sanches leaves due to limited playing time. However, this proposed loan seems to hold little benefit for Barcelona. While Roma might appear more appealing than Girona and Getafe, it’s probable that if Romeu were keen on leaving, these teams would have pursued his signature more actively.
