Germany legend Thomas Muller has received advice to seek a new venture away from Bayern Munich, opening the door for a potential move to Manchester United. Muller, 34, has faced limited playing time this season, especially with the arrival of Harry Kane and competition from other talented players under manager Thomas Tuchel.
Lothar Matthaus, World Cup-winning captain, and former Bayern player, suggested that Muller may need to depart after 23 years with the club to secure more playing minutes. Matthaus, who himself moved to New York MetroStars in 2000 after leaving Bayern, emphasized that Muller’s situation appears to be on a gradual decline. He encouraged Muller to consider a move, possibly to North America for a new life experience.
Despite Muller’s desire to see out his contract expiring at the end of the season, Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, is reportedly interested in signing the experienced forward in 2024. Tuchel is open to the possibility of Muller extending his stay, provided all parties are satisfied with the arrangement.
