According to reports, this star sought dental treatment at a Harley Street dental studio in London, where he received custom-made porcelain veneers. However, he refused to settle the bill, seemingly under the impression that his fame entitled him to a complimentary treatment.
The enigmatic player, known for his ‘Playboy’ reputation, prompted the prominent dentist to enlist the services of debt collectors to recover the outstanding payment. Eventually, the player relented and paid for the dental work, but only after legal action was initiated against him to compel him to settle the debt. This incident coincides with a recent 20 percent increase in requests made to national debt collection agencies to pursue individuals who refuse to pay for their dental treatments.
Chris Spencer, representing Frontline Collections, commented on the case, stating, “He was a Premier League footballer, but it ended up going through the court process, and eventually, we got him to pay. He was somewhat unpredictable, and his reputation as a playboy was widely known. I believe he has since toned down his behavior.”
