Reports from England suggest that Newcastle United are on the verge of signing Milan defender Malick Thiaw, with negotiations having advanced in recent days.
The 22-year-old German center-back has been a target for the Magpies for several weeks, and Milan is open to selling him to make room for their primary target, Strahinja Pavlovic, who is nearing a move to Milan.
Thiaw joined Milan from Schalke 04 in August 2022 for approximately €8.8 million. Despite a slow start, he has become a key part of the defense alongside Fikayo Tomori. His contract with Milan runs until June 2027.
According to HITC, Newcastle is close to finalizing the deal for Thiaw, with discussions over the past 72 hours indicating a possible transfer for around €40 million, including add-ons. The defender has already agreed to terms with the Premier League club.
His exit would create space for Pavlovic, enabling Milan to finalize his transfer from RB Salzburg.
