The ongoing contract extension negotiations between Alphonso Davies and Bayern Munich have been drawn out for some time, following interest from Real Madrid earlier this year. Davies’ current contract is set to expire in June 2025, and Bayern Munich has stated that if he doesn’t agree to a new deal, they will sell him in the upcoming summer transfer window.

New Bayern manager Vincent Kompany is keen on keeping the Canadian international at the club beyond 2025. According to tZ, sporting director Max Eberl has resumed talks with Davies about a new contract. The club is reportedly offering a salary of approximately €13 million (£11m/$14m) along with €4 million (£3m/$4m) in bonuses.

Real Madrid has not yet made a formal offer for the 23-year-old, but Bayern Munich has reportedly set their asking price at €50 million (£43m/$54m) if they are compelled to sell him.

Davies will next be seen playing for Canada on June 21, when they face reigning champions Argentina in the opening match of Copa America 2024.
