Neymar, who was set to dazzle fans in Riyadh, faced a major setback in October 2023 when he suffered a serious ACL injury during a World Cup qualifier for Brazil. This injury required surgery and ruled him out for the rest of the season, causing him to miss Al-Hilal’s title-winning campaign.

Now, Neymar is seeing progress in his recovery. This week, he’s been spotted training on grass, executing agility drills and sprints with noticeable ease. Under the guidance of a personal trainer, his sessions show marked improvement, suggesting he may soon rejoin his teammates in group training.

As Neymar approaches the final stages of his recovery, anticipation for his return grows. Flamengo president Rodolfo Landim has indicated that Neymar is expected to be match-ready by mid-September.

Since joining Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar has made only five appearances. Although he will miss the start of the 2024-25 Saudi Pro League season, he is expected to be a key player for Al-Hilal as they seek to defend their title against Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr.
