The 23-year-old has joined the Italian capital on an initial loan, with an obligation to buy if specific performance conditions are met. Reports earlier this week indicated that Lazio paid approximately €2 million for the loan and will need to pay an additional €4 million to make the transfer permanent.
Dele-Bashiru, who signed with Hatayspor as a free agent at the start of last season, remains under contract in Turkey until 2026. However, he will be nearing the final year of that contract at the end of the 2024-25 season.
Italian reports revealed a €7 million release clause in Dele-Bashiru’s Hatayspor contract, suggesting Lazio successfully negotiated a reduced fee.
The 23-year-old arrived in Rome on Thursday, completing the required medical examinations and signing the necessary contracts.
Previously, Dele-Bashiru was part of Manchester City’s youth academy in England before moving to Championship club Sheffield Wednesday in 2020.
