Juventus has officially announced the acquisition of Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa in a €50 million deal. The Brazilian midfielder has signed a five-year contract with the Bianconeri until June 30, 2029. Juventus, a club publicly traded on the stock market, disclosed the financial terms of the agreement, revealing that the fee will be paid over four years, with additional costs amounting to €1.5 million.

Aston Villa will contribute €25 million towards this transfer, facilitated by their acquisition of Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea from Juventus. Negotiations initially centered on a swap involving Douglas Luiz, Iling-Junior, and Barrenechea, with the latter included later after Weston McKennie declined to leave Juventus despite his contract expiring in June 2025.

Juventus is expected to finalize Villa’s purchase of Barrenechea and Iling-Junior shortly, making the total cash outlay for Douglas Luiz €25 million. The midfielder netted 10 goals for Aston Villa in various competitions last season.
