Stones has since returned to full training, and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has confirmed that the center-back is “fit and ready to go.” Pickford praised Stones, stating, “He is one of the best centre-backs in the world and for England, he has been quality with the number of caps he has won.”

Stones’ return is a significant boost for manager Gareth Southgate, who faces a defensive dilemma with Harry Maguire absent due to injury.  Marc Guehi is expected to start in Maguire’s place, while left-back Luke Shaw is also sidelined but is set to return for England’s second match against Denmark.
