The 34-year-old defender, who captained Real Madrid to La Liga and Champions League victories in the 2023-24 season, is nearing the end of his contract at Santiago Bernabeu. With no new agreement expected, the seasoned Spanish international is poised to become a free agent.

While there has been significant speculation about Nacho moving to the United States, particularly to Inter Miami to team up with eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi, he might be heading in a different direction.

According to ESPN, Nacho is in “advanced talks” with Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad, where his former Real Madrid teammate Karim Benzema currently plays. The club is reportedly “optimistic” about finalizing a deal, though no agreement has been reached yet.

Currently, Nacho is occupied with Euro 2024 duties, which means a decision on his club future will be delayed. However, it seems that the long-time Real Madrid player is leaning towards a move to the Middle East rather than Miami.
