Robinho, the former Manchester City, and AC Milan star is embarking on a new career behind bars as a TV repairman. Serving a nine-year sentence in a Brazilian prison for his role in the gang rape of an Albanian woman in Milan in 2013, Robinho is participating in a prison work program that teaches basic electronics.

The millionaire, with an estimated net worth of £60 million, is learning to fix TVs, radios, and other household electronics. His lawyer, Mario Rosso Vale, describes Robinho as a model prisoner, stating, “Robinho is keeping his head down and quietly getting on with it. He is being an exemplary inmate and has had no issues with other prisoners.” Robinho is enrolled in a 600-hour remote learning course provided by the Brazilian Universal Institute. Vale noted that the course helps Robinho pass the time, though it’s uncertain if he enjoys it.

In addition to his electronics studies, Robinho volunteers to run a reading program, distributing 500 books monthly to fellow inmates. His lawyers are currently appealing his sentence, and he may be eligible for a more flexible regime for good behavior in 2027, halfway through his sentence.
