According to recent updates on Sunday, Juventus is reportedly in discussions with Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr regarding the potential transfer of their long-standing goalkeeper, Wojciech Szczesny.
The goalkeeping situation at Juventus could undergo a significant change if Szczesny is sold. Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano indicates that Al Nassr has presented an offer to acquire Szczesny, although the ultimate decision rests with the former Arsenal and Roma goalkeeper.
Juventus seems poised to secure the services of Michele Di Gregorio, currently the primary goalkeeper for Monza, for a fee of approximately €18 million in the upcoming summer transfer window. This move could indicate a shift in the goalkeeping dynamics at the club.
Should the Di Gregorio transfer materialize, as per recent reports from Italy, it is expected that he will assume the starting role at the Allianz Stadium. Mattia Perin is likely to continue as the backup goalkeeper.
Szczesny, who celebrated his 34th birthday in April, has amassed precisely 200 Serie A appearances for Juventus since permanently joining from Arsenal in 2017. Additionally, he has 72 Serie A outings from his loan spells with Roma.
Throughout his tenure, the Polish international has contributed to Juventus’ success, securing three Serie A titles, three Coppa Italia trophies, and two Supercoppa Italianas. He was also honored as the Serie A goalkeeper of the year for the 2019-20 season.
