Milan inches closer to Zirkzee agreement while Arsenal eyes priority transfer

Milan is nearing the final stages of securing a deal for Joshua Zirkzee, as they actively negotiate personal terms with the representatives of the Bologna star. The Rossoneri have been in pursuit of a new center forward for some time, with Olivier Giroud’s forthcoming transfer to Los Angeles FC underscoring their summer transfer priorities. Zirkzee has remained a prominent target on their radar throughout this period.

Milan has been diligently working on the Zirkzee deal for several months now, having already communicated their intentions to trigger the €40 million release clause in his contract, effective from July 1st, to Bologna. While Arsenal has also shown interest, a move to North London appears increasingly improbable.

According to transfer market pundit Matteo Moretto, Milan’s negotiations with Zirkzee’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, are currently in full swing as they strive to reach a comprehensive agreement on personal terms and associated fees. The 23-year-old expresses a strong desire to continue his career in Italy, with Milan emerging as his preferred destination, fueled in part by the opportunity to don the same jersey as his idol, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
