Luke Shaw has given fans an update on his injury status while addressing criticisms of his loyalty to Manchester United. The defender has been sidelined since suffering an injury against Luton in February, having previously missed several weeks due to a muscle injury. Shaw has made just 12 Premier League appearances this season.

Despite being named in England’s preliminary Euro 2024 squad, Shaw watched United’s FA Cup success from the stands. He took to Instagram to express his frustration and commitment to the club. Shaw wrote, “Happy for the boys to lift the trophy at the weekend. It was hard to watch from the stands. This has been the most frustrating season for me with setbacks, but I’ve worked hard to get back to fitness.”

Shaw addressed questions about his loyalty, stating, “There’s nothing I want to do more than play and win with Manchester United. I am not 100% fit for either club or country right now but am working hard to be. I’ve been at this club for 10 years and for anyone to question my loyalty is frustrating.” United captain Bruno Fernandes supported Shaw, commenting, “Shawberto will be back.” Shaw concluded by thanking fans for their patience and promising to be ready for the next season.
