Charlton youth product Ademola Lookman delivered a stunning hat-trick to end Bayer Leverkusen’s 52-game unbeaten streak and secure the Europa League title for Atalanta. The former England Under-21 star, now 26, scored the first-ever hat-trick in a Europa League final, leading Gian Piero Gasperini’s side to a 3-0 victory at the Aviva Stadium.

Lookman opened the scoring in the 21st minute with a powerful strike from a Davide Zappacosta cross. Five minutes later, he added a second with a beautiful curling shot from the left. Despite Leverkusen’s attempts to stage a comeback, Lookman sealed the win with a left-footed blast into the top corner 15 minutes from time.

This victory marks Atalanta’s second-ever trophy, 61 years after their first Coppa Italia win. Lookman, reflecting on the historic night, expressed his joy, calling it “one of the best nights of my life.” Charlton Athletic, where Lookman was discovered, celebrated his achievement with a proud social media post.
