Adam Lallana To Leave Brighton At Season's End

Adam Lallana will leave Brighton and Hove Albion at the end of the season. The 36-year-old midfielder will become a free agent once his contract at the Amex expires. Lallana, who joined Brighton from Liverpool in 2020, believes it is the “right time” to move on, despite manager Roberto De Zerbi’s desire to keep him.

“It was a tough decision, but it just feels like the right time,” Lallana stated. He cited family reasons as a significant factor in his decision, saying, “I feel it’s time in my life and in my career to put them first.” Lallana started his career at Southampton, achieving back-to-back promotions to the Premier League, before joining Liverpool, where he won the Champions League and Premier League titles.

At Brighton, he made 105 appearances and scored three goals. De Zerbi acknowledged Lallana’s departure as a “big loss” for the club. He praised Lallana as a key player who loves and understands the game, adding that he believes Lallana could play another season in the Premier League.
