Since acquiring a 27.7 percent stake in Manchester United, INEOS has been actively engaged in the club’s football operations at Old Trafford. As reported by The Daily Mail, Ratcliffe recently convened with key advisors, including Sir Dave Brailsford and Jean-Claude Blanc, signaling a proactive approach from United’s new leadership to tackle the team’s performance issues through a potential squad overhaul this summer.

A recent gathering in Manchester saw Ratcliffe, Brailsford, and Blanc deliberating on the club’s future trajectory regarding player transfers. Brailsford purportedly conducted individual meetings with players and staff to outline the club’s strategic vision for the upcoming season. Speculations hint at a willingness to implement significant changes to the squad, with only three players—Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, and Rasmus Hojlund—reportedly assured of their positions in the team.

Ratcliffe’s objective is evident: to rejuvenate Manchester United and return the club to its former glory following a challenging period. With the new management adopting a receptive attitude towards player transfers, numerous players may be subject to release in what could be described as a ‘fire sale’, with each bid carefully considered before final decisions are made.

These proposed adjustments follow a demanding season under manager Erik ten Hag, whose future with the club remains uncertain. Despite reaching the FA Cup final, Manchester United’s failure to secure Champions League football and their sixth-place standing in the league underscore the imperative need for significant enhancements.
