Arsenal are reportedly in “pole position” to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. The 20-year-old Slovenian has impressed with 13 goals in 30 Bundesliga appearances since joining Leipzig last summer. According to the Telegraph, Arsenal have a “strong interest” in the 6ft 5in forward, and other clubs now believe the Gunners are leading the race for his signature.

Sesko’s release clause, previously £43 million, has risen to £64 million due to his recent form, including goals in his last six matches and a notable strike against Borussia Dortmund. His agent, Elvis Basanovic, attended Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Chelsea and was also seen at Old Trafford for Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal, as United have shown interest in Sesko.

AC Milan is another potential suitor, particularly with forward Oliver Giroud moving to LAFC. Despite Arsenal’s success with Kai Havertz as a striker, they are still expected to enter the market for a forward this summer, with Sesko, Viktor Gyokeres, and Joshua Zirkzee among their targets. Mikel Arteta’s side is also planning a significant clear-out, with several fringe and loaned-out players likely to depart.
