Former Inter midfielder Nicola Berti expresses unwavering confidence in the Nerazzurri’s prospects ahead of the Derby della Madonnina, harbouring no doubts as they prepare to face Milan.

Under Simone Inzaghi’s leadership, Inter stands on the verge of securing the Scudetto, with victory in the derby poised to clinch the title and adorn the club’s jersey with a second star. The significance of achieving this milestone in the derby is particularly poignant for Inter’s devoted supporters.

Milan, determined to prevent their rivals from seizing the Scudetto in the derby, are compelled to mount a resolute response following their recent Europa League quarter-final exit to Roma. With Stefano Pioli’s tenure under scrutiny and fan morale dwindling, the pressure is palpable.

Speaking with Libero via TMW, Berti exudes assurance in Inter’s ability to emerge victorious in the derby and secure the Scudetto.

“Tonight, we’ll win the derby, the Scudetto and the second star. How can I be so sure? Because on Tuesday I’d like to drive the bus in the celebration parade through the streets of Milan.”

“I said it before and I’ll repeat it in case you didn’t understand, tonight we will sew the second star on our shirt at the final whistle. Doubts? Milan coming off five defeats in a row in the derby, you don’t want me to talk about Milan, eh?”

Berti then delves into the remarkable qualities of Nicolo Barella, drawing parallels to his own illustrious career.

“N.B. or Nicola Barella, as N.B. stood for Nicola Berti in the record-breaking 1989 scudetto when we beat Milan but, above all, Diego Armando Maradona’s Napoli. You understand, Maradona eh?”

“Why Barella? Because he has my role, my style, my initials. And where do we put Lautaro? He is the perfect captain on a perfect team chock full of so many great players.”
