As per The Mirror, Erik ten Hag is prepared to depart from Manchester United even without an expression of confidence from INEOS’s leader, pointing to a future that seems increasingly uncertain and a campaign that falls below the club’s usual standards. The Dutch manager believes he and Jim Ratcliffe share common ground. However, despite Ratcliffe’s confirmation as a co-owner with a 27.7% stake, the 71-year-old has not publicly endorsed ten Hag since his validation by the Premier League in February.

While ten Hag still has one year remaining on his current contract, he is open to leaving without assurances of a long-term commitment from the club. Previously, ten Hag had full authority over recruitment under the previous management. However, his future role may now be influenced by CEO Omar Berrada, technical director Jason Wilcox, and the expected arrival of Dan Ashworth from Newcastle.

Reports suggest that ten Hag could return to his former club Ajax, which has shown interest in re-signing the 54-year-old manager who previously led them to success before joining United. Ajax has experienced difficulties throughout the season and is set to part ways with John Van’ t Schip at the season’s end.

Regardless of his position at United going forward, ten Hag remains focused on the task ahead as United strive to secure a top-four finish in the Champions League with only four matchdays remaining. Their upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City on Sunday presents an opportunity for the team to regain momentum.
