Garnacho’s performance in the first half of the match against the Cherries led to his substitution at halftime, with United trailing 2-1. The winger expressed frustration with the decision and later stirred controversy by liking two social media posts criticizing his substitution.

Earlier in the week, a United spokesperson stated that the incident had been addressed internally. Now, Ten Hag has confirmed that Garnacho has apologized for his actions, ensuring that no disciplinary action will be taken against him.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference ahead of United’s FA Cup semi-final against Coventry, Ten Hag told reporters: “Alejandro is a young player. He has to learn a lot. He has apologised for it and we move on.”

This isn’t the first time Ten Hag has dealt with disciplinary issues involving members of his squad this season. Jadon Sancho faced consequences, including being loaned out to Borussia Dortmund, after criticizing the manager on social media and refusing to apologize.

Ten Hag also criticized Marcus Rashford’s behaviour as unacceptable after the English forward was photographed attending a nightclub and subsequently missed training.

Ten Hag remains focused on the upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Coventry and emphasizes the importance of not underestimating them.

“They are a threat. Being in the semi-finals speaks volumes, and their performance against Wolves in the quarter-final showed fantastic mentality,” he said.

With the FA Cup representing United’s last chance to salvage silverware in what has been a disappointing season, Ten Hag is leaving no stone unturned in his efforts to secure a spot in the final.
