Reports have emerged of a heated altercation following Paris Saint-Germain’s 4-1 victory over Barcelona in the Champions League, which saw PSG advance with a 6-4 aggregate win. The incident allegedly involved PSG’s Kylian Mbappe, who scored twice in the match. According to Mundo Deportivo, tensions flared as PSG players exited the pitch at Barcelona’s Olympic Stadium in an exuberant manner, irritating some Barcelona players.
Mbappe reportedly escalated the situation upon entering the tunnel, celebrating in what was described as a “vindictive way” with teammates. He was also reported to have said, “This is football and it is on the field where we have to talk,” which further incited Barcelona players. The confrontation led to a shoving match involving players, staff, and security personnel, with more than 60 people reportedly involved.
Fortunately, no physical harm was reported. Mbappe, who is expected to join Real Madrid on a free transfer after his PSG contract expires, allegedly made a provocative gesture towards Barcelona fans as he left the pitch. PSG will face Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-finals, while Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will contest the other semi-final.
