Juventus has been ordered to pay Cristiano Ronaldo more than £8 million after he won his legal battle against the club over unpaid wages. Ronaldo, who now plays for Saudi side Al-Nassr, claimed he was owed nearly £17 million from his time in Turin during the Covid pandemic.

The former Manchester United star argued that Juventus never paid back the money after he privately agreed to postpone payment of his salary, which was not reported in the club’s financial statements. Although the tribunal ruled in Ronaldo’s favor, they determined that both parties shared responsibility for the arrangement. As a result, Juventus will pay Ronaldo half of the owed fee, amounting to £8.3 million. Ronaldo spent three years at Juventus between 2018 and 2021, scoring 101 goals in 134 games and winning two Serie A titles and one Italian Cup.

He left Juventus for a return to Manchester United and later joined Al-Nassr, where he has scored 56 goals in 62 outings. Ronaldo continues to be a regular for Portugal’s national team, winning his 206th cap earlier this year.
