USMNT sensation Sergino Dest opens up about negotiations with PSV for permanent transfer

With 81 points in the league, a notable nine points ahead of Feyenoord in second place, PSV stands on the brink of clinching the 2023-24 Eredivisie title in their upcoming match. Spearheaded by three U.S. internationals – Ricardo Pepi, Malik Tillman, and Sergino Dest – their impressive campaign approaches its climax, bringing forth significant transfer speculations for the latter two.

Tillman and Dest, currently on loan from Bayern Munich and Barcelona respectively, face uncertain futures. Nevertheless, the USMNT defender recently expressed his desire to continue with PSV in the Netherlands, provided mutually beneficial terms can be reached. It’s reported that an approximate fee of $11 million (€10 million) would secure Dest’s permanent transfer from Barcelona, with both PSV and the Catalan club open to negotiations. Following PSV’s resounding 6-0 victory over Vitesse, the 23-year-old spoke to ESPN about his future.

When questioned about staying in the Netherlands, Dest acknowledged the possibility, highlighting PSV’s satisfaction with his performances and his personal enjoyment at the club.

“There is certainly a possibility,” he stated. “PSV is very satisfied with me and I am enjoying myself here.”

“We are doing well as a team, we are close to being champions and next year we will play in the Champions League again. Everything has to be right and it’s up to us to fix everything to reach a good agreement.”

PSV has the opportunity to claim the Eredivisie title on April 25th should they secure their 27th victory of the season against SC Heerenveen. The entirety of Eindhoven eagerly anticipates celebrating the club’s first league triumph since the 2017-18 season.
