Frank Lampard has decided not to pursue the vacant Canada manager position, according to reports. The Chelsea legend, who has been out of work since his caretaker stint with Chelsea concluded last season, believes that the role “does not represent the right opportunity” after initial talks.
Canada had considered Lampard as a potential candidate to lead them into the 2026 World Cup, which they are co-hosting with the USA and Mexico. However, Lampard has opted to continue waiting for the right managerial opportunity. Speaking about his return to management, Lampard expressed his enjoyment of being with his family and the desire to find the right opportunity to get back to work. He emphasized the intensity of the job and the importance of family life during his time away from management.
Lampard’s managerial achievements include leading Derby County to the playoffs in 2019 and getting Chelsea into the top four and the FA Cup final in 2020. Despite a brief spell at Everton, where he narrowly avoided relegation, Lampard remains patient in his search for his next challenge.
