Just a year ago, it appeared that Kroos was nearing the twilight of his career, but now it seems he has decided to prolong it. According to renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Madrid midfielder is close to finalizing a new contract with Los Blancos, securing his presence in the Spanish capital until 2025.

This season, Kroos has reclaimed his place in Madrid’s starting lineup under Carlo Ancelotti, featuring in 20 La Liga matches. This stands in stark contrast to the previous season when Ancelotti acknowledged the midfielder’s potential shift into a transitional phase at the club.

In the past, Kroos has left speculation surrounding his future, hinting as recently as March 19th: “Many things are not clear about what will happen after the Euros. I don’t even have a club contract for next season yet. I would have to clarify that first.”

It appears Kroos is poised to remain with Madrid at least until 2025, during which time he is expected to remain a key figure for Los Blancos. As they prepare to face Athletic Club on Sunday, the Spanish giants aim to uphold their commanding position at the summit of La Liga.
