However, following a considerable period on the sidelines, Mount resumed training earlier this week. Manager Erik ten Hag wasted no time in reintegrating him into the team, as reported by The Athletic. It’s anticipated that the 25-year-old will feature in the squad for the crucial FA Cup quarter-final clash against Liverpool this Sunday.

Ten Hag hinted at Mount’s return during Friday’s press conference, indicating that Harry Maguire, Rasmus Hojlund, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka are also nearing a comeback, having trained with the group. Mount completed full training sessions with the team throughout the week, indicating positive progress.
