The midfielder departed from Chelsea during the summer transfer window to join the Old Trafford club. However, according to reports from the Manchester Evening News, his decision to move wasn’t solely motivated by football reasons. Allegedly, the 25-year-old still harbors feelings of sensitivity regarding his departure from Chelsea, where he spent 18 years progressing through the youth academy to the first-team.

Mount’s tenure at United has encountered its share of challenges as well. Despite joining, he has only managed to make 12 appearances across all competitions. He suffered from injuries, missing significant playing time between August and September, and then encountering another fitness setback in November, which has kept him sidelined since then. Presently, he has returned to training with his teammates and is expected to be available for selection under coach Erik ten Hag in the upcoming matches.

During his time at Chelsea, Mount amassed 195 senior appearances, scoring 33 goals from midfield. His transfer to United elicited a negative response from Chelsea fans, who accused him of prioritizing financial gains over loyalty to his former club.

As United prepares for the FA Cup quarter-final against Liverpool and the final stretch of their 2023-24 Premier League campaign, the England international is eager to make a return to action and contribute to his new team.
