Discussions between Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s representatives and Napoli have hit a snag, as there exists a significant disparity between the club’s proposal and the player’s demands.

Kvaratskhelia, the 22-year-old Georgian winger, remains on his original contract since his arrival from Dinamo Batumi 18 months ago, making him one of the team’s lowest earners at approximately €1m net per season, alongside additional bonuses.

Despite his impressive performance, which saw him score 14 goals and provide 17 assists in 43 appearances during his debut season, Kvaratskhelia finds himself earning less than other players like Jens Cajuste, Mario Rui, and Diego Demme. Consequently, he and his agent, Mamuka Jugeli, have been advocating for a more lucrative deal at Napoli.

According to Giovanni Annunziata of Calciomercato.com, Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has extended a new contract offer to Kvaratskhelia, amounting to nearly €4m net per season, effectively tripling his current salary to acknowledge his immediate impact.

However, negotiations have stalled as Jugeli, Kvaratskhelia’s agent, is pressing for nearly double that figure, seeking a salary of at least €7m net per season.
