Arteta visited Nusr-Et Steakhouse in Abu Dhabi during the Premier League’s winter break, engaging with the Turkish chef, ‘Salt Bae’ (real name Nusret Gokce). Arteta allowed Salt Bae to feed him a piece of meat, a move that faced considerable backlash from various sections of Arsenal supporters.

Manchester United icon Ferdinand, who had Salt Bae at his wedding, didn’t miss the chance to criticize Arteta, suggesting that such actions are exclusive to an Arsenal manager. Speaking on Vibe With Five, Ferdinand remarked, “He [Salt Bae] was feeding some of the guests at my wedding like that. If I’m paying for that he ain’t feeding me nothing, not having it, but he was going around some of the guests doing that. A Man United manager ain’t doing that, only an Arsenal manager would do that type of stupidness. Pep [Guardiola] ain’t doing that.”

Salt Bae has faced criticism from football fans after previous incidents, such as attempting to hold the World Cup trophy and disrupting the celebrations of Argentina players during the post-final festivities in Qatar in December 2022. FIFA initiated an investigation into how Salt Bae gained access to the Lusail pitch after the final.

Arsenal’s successful warm-weather training camp in Dubai was evident as they convincingly defeated Crystal Palace 5-0 in their Premier League return last Saturday. Looking to maintain momentum, they aim to secure another three points against Nottingham Forest on January 30 in their upcoming league fixture.
