According to ESPN reports, there is discontent among some Barcelona players regarding their manager, with concerns raised about his approach and decision-making. A portion of the squad is said to feel aggrieved by their head coach, although Xavi remains confident that he retains the full support of his players.

The tension within the team allegedly surfaced after the December match against Almeria, in which the club secured a narrow 3-2 victory. It is reported that Xavi delivered a stern team talk during halftime, a move that was poorly received by some players.

Despite facing skepticism from some team members, Xavi maintains backing from sporting director Deco and club president Joan Laporta, both of whom have faith in his capabilities despite the team’s inconsistent performances this season. Pep Guardiola, Manchester City coach and Xavi’s former manager at Barcelona, recently sent a supportive message to the entire team, including the coach, following a 4-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup final.

Earlier in the season, the former Blaugrana captain signed a contract extension binding him to the club until 2025. However, the financial constraints of the club may pose challenges in removing the manager before the expiration of his contract.
