Casemiro has been sidelined for the past two months due to a hamstring problem, while Martinez hasn’t played since September due to a recurring foot injury first sustained in April.

Ten Hag mentioned that although they’re not fully ready for action yet, both have resumed training and were spotted last week at Carrington. Meanwhile, Rasmus Hojlund is set to be available for the Red Devils’ match against Wigan Athletic, as confirmed by the Dutch coach.

During a pre-match press conference, Ten Hag, speaking through ESPN, noted, “They [Casemiro and Martinez] are a long time already back on the grass and now they return back into team training but not fully, so partial. Now they have to make the next steps and that may take some days, I think even weeks.”

Regarding Hojlund’s situation, he added, “He [Hojlund] will return. He dropped out shortly before the game [against Forest] and so he was a little bit unwell before the game. The day before we expected him to play and then he dropped out shortly before the game but he is back in training.”

Hojlund has faced difficulties in the league, managing only one goal in 15 appearances, which he scored in his recent game for the Red Devils. Casemiro and Martinez’s extended absence has heavily impacted the team, leading to their exit from the Champions League and a less than impressive performance in the league this season.

United is scheduled to face Championship side Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup’s third round today. Hojlund might feature in the game, aiming to regain form against a notably weaker opponent.
