According to Florian Plettenberg [via Sky Sports], it’s probable that the left-back will join the German club on loan. He’s fallen out of favor in Mauricio Pochettino’s side and is currently far down in the pecking order. While the deal isn’t imminent, reports indicate this is the likeliest move for Maatsen during the January transfer window.

Dortmund, despite topping the challenging Champions League group with Newcastle United, Paris Saint-Germain, and AC Milan, is presently struggling in fifth place in the league. They’re seeking new signings in the winter to strengthen the squad for the season’s latter half.
