Miralem Pjanic believes his former teammate, Leonardo Bonucci, could offer valuable experience to Roma if he makes the move, though he doesn’t anticipate a high-scoring encounter in the upcoming clash between Giallorossi and Juventus.

Pjanic has established himself as one of Serie A’s standout central midfielders over the past decade, boasting 42 goals in 281 appearances in Italy’s top tier.

Having played for both Roma and Juventus before switching to Barcelona in a swap deal involving Arthur Melo in 2020, the 33-year-old has claimed four Serie A titles and two Coppa Italia trophies with Juventus. He sees Juventus as the sole challenger capable of rivalling Inter for the Scudetto this season.

“Juventus are still solid and consistent, it’s not a coincidence that they are the only club keeping up with Inter,” Pjanic conveyed to Gazzetta. “I don’t think other clubs can compete for the Scudetto. I see a duel between Inter and Juventus because they are the only clubs not dropping points. The others have not been consistent. Napoli are not on the same level as last season, same as Milan, who I like, but they have too many highs and lows.”

Pjanic views Inter as favourites due to their better-equipped squad and the certainties they possess, including last season’s Champions League Final experience. However, he acknowledges Juventus as a credible contender, especially due to their absence from European competitions.

Reflecting on his time under Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus, Pjanic praised the coach’s winning mentality and exceptional communication skills. “Inter are the favourite because they have a better-equipped team and more certainties than Juventus also because of last season’s Champions League Final,” Pjanic remarked. He also highlighted Allegri’s adaptability to player strengths and emphasized the team’s reliance on organization over individual prowess.

Ahead of the clash between his former clubs, Pjanic anticipates a tactical game with fewer goals, acknowledging the experience of players like Romelu Lukaku and Paulo Dybala but noting their teams’ overreliance on them, especially in Juventus’ case.

Regarding rumours of Bonucci potentially moving to Roma, Pjanic expressed optimism, believing that Bonucci’s experience would be an asset to the club.

In summary, Pjanic lauds Bonucci’s potential contribution to Roma foresees a strategic match between Roma and Juventus and acknowledges the strengths and dependencies of both teams’ key players.
