Tottenham Hotspur is eyeing Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher, but the pursuit comes at a hefty price of £50 million. The English midfielder, a crucial figure in Mauricio Pochettino’s team, has garnered interest from Spurs. Gallagher, 23, showcased leadership skills by captaining the team in the absence of Reece James and Ben Chilwell due to injuries.
The potential move hinges on a transfer chain, involving Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s departure to Fulham or Bayern Munich, which would provide the funds for Gallagher’s acquisition. Although Hojbjerg faced interest in the previous transfer window, a move did not materialize. Gallagher isn’t the sole Chelsea youth graduate on Tottenham’s radar.
The club, along with Newcastle, has expressed interest in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi, another product of Chelsea’s academy. However, both Tottenham and Newcastle might have to wait until next summer to pursue Guehi as Crystal Palace remains firm on a substantial fee. The 23-year-old center-back is sought after by Arsenal and Manchester clubs, with Chelsea having the option to match any bid due to the terms of his £20 million move to Palace in 2021.
