Ronaldinho, aged 43, responded to Murray’s post on his personal X account following the tennis star’s sharing of a compilation showcasing the former AC Milan and Barcelona legend’s standout moments from his illustrious 17-year career.

Murray, using his own X account, expressed, “My favourite athlete growing up. When I moved to Barcelona to train at 15 I got the chance to watch him live a bunch of times. Absolute genius. Always smiling. I’d arrive early at the stadium just to watch him warm up as he’d be doing ridiculous skills/tricks like in the video.”

In response, Ronaldinho simply replied, “Appreciate it!”

While Murray has dedicated a significant portion of his life to tennis, he’s also a passionate football enthusiast, closely following Arsenal and Hibernian. His connection to Hibernian runs deeper through his grandfather Roy Erskine, who was part of the team during the 1950s.

Despite the current spotlight on his exchange with Ronaldinho, Murray’s return to the tennis court remains uncertain following his withdrawal from the recent Davis Cup Finals with Team GB due to a shoulder injury in November.
