US Open victor Coco Gauff wants the world to understand she’s more than just a tennis player. Ranked third globally, she discussed discovering her off-court identity and relishing typical teenage activities when not competing.
In a fresh Instagram and TikTok video, Gauff shares, “Nothing’s better for my game than taking my mind off my game,” She highlights the misconception that her life solely revolves around tennis, expressing a desire to showcase her diverse interests beyond the court.
“People think athletes in general, we only do our sport and that’s it. But it’s definitely not, we’re people too… I do things that normal teenagers do.”
Gauff stars in an advertisement for Ray-Ban x Meta smart glasses, demonstrating their functionalities while reflecting on her personal journey. She admits to getting overly absorbed in tennis, sometimes losing her off-court identity. Recognizing oneself away from the sport, she believes, enhances performance during crucial moments.
