Initially playing along, De Bruyne teased fans on Instagram by tagging Drake in a post, jokingly stating, “@champagnepapi needed an assist.” He shared images with the singer and the song itself. However, he swiftly clarified that he wasn’t involved, admitting, “all jokes aside, it’s not me! Huge fan though!”
Haaland, catching wind of his teammate’s playful post, couldn’t resist joining the banter. The Premier League’s top scorer humorously commented, “he is not alone.”
De Bruyne’s absence since the season’s start, due to a serious hamstring injury suffered against Burnley, has kept him away from Pep Guardiola’s squad. Guardiola mentioned, “He says he feels really good, but still isn’t training or running much,” The coach emphasized a cautious approach to De Bruyne’s recovery without rushing his return.
