Rio Ferdinand was full of praises for Andre Onana after a crucial penalty save from the Cameroonian goalkeeper.

Andre Onana was talking about how this save was an important moral booster for him and how the only goal of the match which was scored by Harry Maguire will play an important role in boosting the centre back’s confidence after a poor season in 2022-23 season.

Andre Onana said that it was his “job” to save the penalty stating to TNT Sports “I just had to do my job, you know. I had to do it for us to win, to win against a very tough opponent, we had a great game. Great goal from the big man Harry and I’m very happy, we have to continue like that.”

“Of course [there’s resilience]. We are Manchester United, we’re a very big club with big players. So it’s just a matter of time, now we have to continue like this and we’ll get through this.”
