WHAT OCCURED? Messi uploaded a photo of himself dozing next to the World Cup trophy in Qatar in 2022, the year he led Argentina to their third consecutive triumph. After defeating England in the Women’s World Cup final on Sunday, Spain’s Hermoso has done the same. She eventually got some much-needed sleep after more than a day and a half of celebration, but the trophy remained by her side.
