Reece James has been chosen Chelsea’s new club captain ahead of the next Premier League season.

The 23-year-old England international replaces Cesar Azpilicueta, who joined Atletico Madrid on a free transfer earlier this summer.
James is a Chelsea academy product who has been with the west London club since the age of six.

Mauricio Pochettino, the new head coach of Chelsea, informed the club’s official website, “This is a decision made by me and the club.” “We are delighted that Reece will captain the team this season.”He sets a good example, and his enthusiasm for Chelsea has been palpable during pre-season. During our summer tour, he proudly wore the armband and will take on the job of leading our group with his own attitude and ideas.”
